Terms of service

These terms cover the Flockdeck relay at remote.flockdeck.ai and this website. They are an agreement between you and Jim Wright, an individual based in the United Kingdom ("we"). By turning on Flockdeck Remote with the shared relay, you agree to them. If you subscribe, The subscription applies to you as well.

The Flockdeck desktop app is separate. The desktop app is free, with its source available for any noncommercial purpose, under the PolyForm Noncommercial licence. That licence, not these terms, governs how you use, copy and change the desktop app. The relay and the web client it serves are not covered by that licence, or open source at all: they are a service, provided to you under these terms.

The shared relay

Flockdeck Remote through the shared relay starts with a free trial, and after it is a subscription. Flockdeck Remote lets you open your own Flockdeck window from a paired phone, tablet or browser, through Flockdeck's relay. Flockdeck is software, not a support or remote-assistance service, and the relay does not route anyone's general internet traffic, hide IP addresses, or work as a VPN or proxy. The desktop app itself is free, and never needs the relay.

• Your desktops, your responsibility. You are responsible for what runs on your desktops, for the devices you pair, and for keeping them secure. Anyone holding one of your paired devices can reach your desktops through it. A paired device can do anything you can do in Flockdeck, including open terminals and shell panes. If a device is lost, remove it.
• Terminal input and output are end-to-end encrypted once the device and the desktop have each registered a key; the rest isn't. From then on the relay carries your keystrokes and a terminal's output without being able to read them. Until then a terminal is protected by TLS only. It does decrypt, to route them, the state of your panes (status, spend, usage limits, which model routing chose), the conversation view of a pane and what you search in it, and photos you attach, as the privacy policy explains. Don't send anything through it you wouldn't send through a service you trust to that extent.
• Fair use. The relay is shared, and it has limits on how often accounts can be created and devices paired. Please don't try to get around them.

The free trial

• Thirty days, from when your account is made: when the first of your desktops turns Flockdeck Remote on. An account made before subscriptions began has its thirty days from then.
• No payment details are needed to start it, and one trial comes with each account.
• When it ends, Flockdeck Remote stops until you subscribe. The desktop app goes on working exactly as before; only reaching it through the relay stops.
• Nothing is deleted straight away. An account is kept while anything on it has been used in the last 90 days, and for 90 days after a subscription ends. Subscribing in that time restores it as it was. An account that has not been used for 90 days, and has no subscription, is deleted with its desktops and devices, as the privacy policy describes.

The subscription

• What it includes. Flockdeck Remote through the shared relay for your account's desktops and devices, up to the limits the relay shows, and notifications to your devices when an agent is waiting on you. One price covers the whole account.
• Who sells it. You buy the subscription from Paddle (paddle.com), our reseller and merchant of record, under Paddle's buyer terms. Paddle takes the payment, charges the sales tax that applies where you are, and sends your receipts. The service itself is ours to provide, under these terms.
• The price is shown before you pay, with how often it is charged.
• Renewal. It renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. If its price is to change, you will be told at least 30 days before it renews at the new price, and can cancel before then.
• Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Devices on a paired phone or browser, with Manage subscription, which opens Paddle's customer portal. Flockdeck Remote carries on until the end of the period you have paid for, and then stops as it does at the end of a trial. The account is kept for 90 days after that, and deleted then if nothing on it has been used in the last 90 days.
• A payment that fails. Paddle tries again for a while. Flockdeck Remote carries on for up to 14 days after the renewal date while it does; if the payment is never made, the subscription ends.
• Your right to cancel. Anyone can cancel within 14 days of first subscribing and have that first payment refunded in full, without giving a reason. Ask through Manage subscription, or by email. See also the refund policy.
• Refunds otherwise. Apart from that right, and any other the law gives you, a period that has begun is not refunded, and that includes every renewal; cancelling stops the next renewal.
• Availability is best effort, as for the trial: there is no service level or promise of uptime.
• Notifications travel through the push service of your browser's maker (Apple, Google or Mozilla) and depend on your device's settings. We do not control either, so we cannot promise that every notification arrives, or arrives on time.
• If you lose every paired device, email us: your subscription can be moved to a new account.

What you must not do

Don't use the relay to:

• break the law, or to help anyone else break it;
• reach, or try to reach, a desktop, device or account that isn't yours;
• attack, probe, overload or disrupt the relay or its hosting, or anyone else's use of it;
• use the relay for anything other than reaching your own Flockdeck desktops, for example to carry other applications' network traffic.

Suspension and removal

We may limit, suspend or remove an account, desktop or device that breaks these terms or that puts the relay or its users at risk. Where it's reasonable, we'll say why. You can stop using the relay at any time by turning Flockdeck Remote off, which deletes your data from it.

Availability and changes

The shared relay is provided as is, during the free trial and on a subscription alike. We aim to keep it running, but it may go down or be changed, sometimes without notice. We make no promise that it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free. If the shared relay is to be withdrawn, subscribers will be told at least 30 days before, and refunded for any time paid for beyond it.

A licence for companies to run the relay on their own infrastructure is coming. It will have terms of its own.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using the shared relay or from it being unavailable. This includes lost data, lost work, lost profits, and anything done through a device you paired. Where we are liable to you for a subscription, our liability is limited to what you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you use the relay as a consumer, you keep your statutory rights.

Third-party software and services

Flockdeck runs agents and connects to model providers that you choose, such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, or a model API. They are provided by others under their own terms and policies, and these terms don't cover them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date. If you keep using the relay after a change, you accept the new terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings where you live.
